The Great Medicine Debate

So, as you can see, the Blobster is extremely excited today..... no medicines for him!!! The old man is finally off the hook!!!

If you look close enough, you can see the jubilation just aching to be expressed!!

Boog, on the other hand, was not so lucky. Neither, I should add, were my arms and legs, as I am sure I will develop Cat Scratch Fever in the next few days!!!
So, i started the challenge with one and a half pills to give him, 3 pieces total. After wrestling around and being scratched almost to the point of scarring, I finally got him to swallow 2 of the 3 pieced... Or so I thought..... "All gone Mom!!!"

So, I relaxed, figuring we'll tackle the 3rd piece a little later, give the poor little guy some rest!!

Until I came across this......And, this......Apparently, my little Booger has resorted to what we like to refer to in my industry as "Cheeking his meds." As soon as I was relaxed, he skulked off to spit out the very stuff that was supposed to relieve him of his annoying worms! Luckily, after a long talk, and some nice sweet icing coated pills, he reluctantly took his medicine, and the evening went on with no further incident!!!

Thought to ponder: Is there really such thing as a cat "owner"?

The dark(er) side of Boog

Today I will pose simply one question of opinion.....

Could this possibly be the face of a cold blooded killer?

Much to my dismay, I have found out the gut-wrenching truth about the Boogster. I questioned my judgement when I was told that he acquired his tape worms from eating mice, but as he just brushed past me with the scent of a recently massacred stink bug fresh on his breath, I knew the truth deep down inside. Yes, my precious little baby has a sadistic side to him.

Blob, however, seems to be well aware of this development, as he has been hiding behind the tv in the same spot since I returned home from work. I think he might suspect something about his younger counterpart.

Well, tonight I will administer the pills to my potentially dangerous little devil. Lets just hope one of my fingers isn't next on the menu!!!

I KNEW I should have invested in a cabinet alarm!!

Well, I came home from a long weekend at my Mom's farm today to a fresh crime scene....

Someone had burglarized the kittie food storage vault!!!

I looked around for possible suspects, never imagining that my angelic boys could do such a thing, and found the apartment empty! Blob, the oh so excitable, was overcome with grief at such a horrible crime, I could not calm him down, he was simply inconsolable....

And Boog, the ever vigilant seemed to be convinced that it had been the potato bug flying ominously around the open window....

I fear we may never find the cat food culprit, but isn't it funny, my boys seem to be a lot happier today, and just a tad, dare i say, bloated!!!

First Report...

I guess I should start day one by introducing my boys.

This is Boog, short for booger, snotinator, sneezie, and a few other choice gross words I use when referring to him. See, Boog has had a cold since the day he jumped into my arms and I decided to take him home. Since then, he has littered my clothes, walls, mirrors, and even on occasion, myself, with his lovely snot rockets. I have learned that following him around w/ the wiping rag will someday be my undoing, just one step closer to crazy cat lady world!!

And now a look at Blob:

As you can see from my prior description of the lovely Boog, I like my cats to earn their names. Blob is short for Blobster, fatty fat cat, Jabba (star wars reference, yeah, I said it), the Notorious B.I.G., and other playground bully names. Though he may have some objectional names, they are said with the utmost affection, love, and respect that a man of his age has earned! (don't tell him, but the shelter listed him as a Senior Citizen) Blob came to me as a free adoption, and though he may have a face that only a mother could love, I think he is quite handsome at 30 lbs overweight, with a crinkled ear and extra toes on his feet!!!
